BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS, NOV. 13, 2006 – Jones Lang LaSalle’s web site for the residential component of NorthPoint, a transit-oriented urban neighborhood uniting Cambridge, Boston, and Somerville, MA, was selected as a winner in the Real Estate category for the 2006 MITX Awards. The eleventh annual event is the largest competition in the country that recognizes achievements in the development and implementation of interactive technologies. Winners were announced in 25 categories at a ceremony attended by more than 800 industry professionals held on November 8th at the Boston Copley Place Marriott.

The web site at www.livingatnorthpoint.com conveys a vision and life style for the new NorthPoint neighborhood. The site reflects the project’s unique combination of quality design and architecture, location, and market niche. Features of the site include the NorthPoint movie, and an electronic postcard tool which enables visitors to share their impressions with friends.

Accepting the award representing Jones Lang LaSalle’s Marketing Group was Interactive Design Manager Kasia Bytnerowicz. The creative team is comprised of Jones Lang LaSalle Senior Vice President Linda Swain, Vice President Steve Steinberg, Graphics Manager Tina Snyder, and Senior Associate Carley Monell. The copywriter was Shelby Hypes of Scarlet Letters. The electronic postcard application was developed by Mike Lok of Urbane Dog Creative. The movie is a production of Neoscape.

“The NorthPoint development brings a unique vision to Boston,” said Bytnerowicz. “It was a great opportunity to create a web site that shares our excitement about the project with the public. The MITX award is a great coup for our internal marketing group.”

“This year’s award submissions showed the most impressive elevation of ambition in quality, functionality, creative and technological achievements we’ve seen to date,” said Kiki Mills, executive director of MITX. “These awards provide a forum to showcase the finalists and winners, and acknowledge the sophisticated work that is being created locally for nationally and internationally recognized brands.”

The NorthPoint residential web site was recently a second place winner in the Society of Marketing Professional Services’ (SMPS) 2006 Marketing Communications Awards. The site was also honored by Graphic Design USA in 2005 with its In-house Design Award.

NorthPoint is a 5.2 million square foot urban community on a 45-acre parcel in Cambridge, Boston and Somerville. The Master Plan includes approximately 2.2 million square feet of commercial space spanning 19 city blocks, retail supporting a 24/7 city life style, a residential neighborhood with approximately 2,800 condominiums, a new commuter rail station, hotel, multi-use trails, and parking. Phase 1 construction on two residential buildings totaling 329 units and half of a 10-acre park is underway with completion scheduled for 2007. The groundbreaking for a new MBTA Multi-Modal Transit Station featuring the new Lechmere Green Line Station and Busway at NorthPoint was held on in October 2006.
